BUILD QUALITY & MAINTENANCE

Materials used, quality of copper, brass and stainless. How to maintain and clean.

Range Hoods

COPPER AND BRASS RANGE HOODS

  • Regular Cleaning: Keep it simple! Just grab a mild, non-acidic liquid detergent (Ivory works like a charm), warm water, and a soft, non-abrasive cloth. Give your hood a gentle wipe-down to keep it gleaming.Stay away from those harsh detergents like Dawn or Palmolive, and steer clear of abrasive cleaners like Comet or Soft Scrub. They’re bad news for your hood’s lacquer finish.
  • Maintenance Tips: No copper or brass polish, no abrasive materials, no harsh chemicals—just don’t do it. These can mess with the lacquer and turn your masterpiece into a mess. After cleaning, make sure to dry your hood with a soft cloth to avoid any water spots. When it’s time for installation, stick with silicone sealant, and don’t even think about using Plumber’s Putty or tape—they’re not friends with CopperHood.
  • Handling Scratches: Got a scratch? No worries! If the lacquer’s scratched, your copper or brass will patina naturally. Want to speed up the recovery? A light touch of KRYLON Clear Sealer on a clean, dry hood will do the trick.

STAINLESS AND POWDER COATED RANGE HOODS

  • Regular Cleaning: Just like above, keep it simple. For stainless hoods, you can clean similar to your stainless appliances. Just watch out for any copper or brass accents on your hood.
  • For Powder Coated, use a micro fiber type cloth that won’t leave behind any residual fibers.

Copper Sinks

Welcome to the world of “living finish” copper! Your sink is alive—well, sort of. Its color will shift and change over time, giving it that unique, ever-evolving character that copper lovers adore. Here’s how to keep your sink looking sharp.

Care Instructions:

  • Keep it clean with a little mild soap, warm water, and a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge. Easy peasy.
  • Skip the germ-killing products—they can mess with your sink’s natural beauty.
  • Harsh chemicals like bleach, ammonia, or vinegar? They’re not invited to this cleaning party.
  • Metal scrubbing pads and steel wool? Hard pass. And definitely no copper polish!
  • Don’t leave acidic foods (looking at you, lemons and vinegar) hanging out in the sink too long. If they dosneak in, just clean up right away to avoid lighter stains.

Maintenance Instructions:

  • After each use, give your sink a quick wipe-down with a soft cloth to keep water from hanging around.
  • Want to keep that shine going? Once a month, apply a thin coat of carnauba wax or beeswax. Let it dryfor about 20 minutes, then buff it to a beautiful patina-like shine.
  • Got watermarks, scratches, or stains? Don’t sweat it—wax and buff them away using the same steps.

Handling Specific Issues:

  • Water Marks: A little wax, a little buff, and you’re good to go.
  • Scratches & Stains: Leave them alone for a bit—they’ll darken naturally. Then, give them the wax andbuff treatment to protect the finish.
  • Light/Bright Spots: These will fade back into the rest of the sink over time. Help them along with a littlesoap and water.
  • Green or Brown Spotting: This is just mineral build-up, no biggie! Wipe it off with a soft cloth, and keepyour sink dry to avoid it in the future.
